Few soccer ball designs are as recognizable as the Champions League Starball.
For 2026/27, adidas gives that familiar identity two different treatments through the new UEFA Champions League and UEFA Women’s Champions League Official Match Balls.
Both keep the stars at the center of the design. The colors and graphics take them in separate directions.
Champions League: Color Around the Stars
The UEFA Champions League ball keeps its familiar white star panels and adds a much brighter surrounding design.
Blue, neon green, yellow and pink brushstrokes run across the graphics, creating a sense of movement. Halftone patterns add texture, while a bright pink adidas logo ties into the wider palette.
The stars remain immediately recognizable, but the new graphic treatment gives the ball a more expressive appearance.
Women’s Champions League: Purple, Orange and Yellow
The UEFA Women’s Champions League ball uses a different balance of color.
A white base gives the star graphics room to stand out. Deep metallic purple outlines frame the stars, with orange-to-yellow transitions adding warmth inside them.
Silver-gray details connect the design, while black adidas and competition logos complete the look.
The contrast between the purple outlines and warmer interiors gives this Starball its own clear identity.
One Recognizable Foundation
The Starball design provides continuity from one season to the next.
That familiarity allows adidas to change the surrounding graphics while keeping the connection to Champions League soccer intact.
For 2026/27, one ball uses multicolor brushstrokes and halftone effects. The other puts more emphasis on defined star outlines and gradients.
Placed side by side, they show how much the same central motif can change through color and execution.
A New Season’s Look
Match ball designs become part of how a season is remembered.
These two releases bring fresh graphics to the competitions while retaining the stars supporters already know.
Whether you follow both tournaments or collect their seasonal designs, the 2026/27 editions offer two distinct takes on a familiar soccer icon.
